From Hot, Humid Warehouse to Ideal Plastic-Producing Environment
Monsen Engineering's client, a leading plastics company based in Monroe Township, had an enclosed production warehouse prone to high temperatures and humidity levels. These conditions often slowed its manufacturing process. Our client recently secured a contract with a pharmaceutical company to manufacture its medication containers. The contract, however, required our client to produce the plastic containers in a temperature-controlled environment.
Strict production regulations set by the pharmaceutical company meant that our client needed to outfit its production space with air conditioning. The challenge: Monsen was given four months to complete the project.
Time-Sensitive Challenges
Monsen immediately conducted an engineering review of the warehouse facility. Our team assessed the facility's structure, mechanics, and electric capabilities. When we found that the building's existing columns and footings could support the necessary roof equipment, we placed the order for the air conditioning units.
We ordered rooftop equipment that was designed to hold a dew point temperature of less than sixty-five degrees Fahrenheit. This dew point temperature was critical in maintaining the proper environment in the warehouse.
Equipment and Environment
Monsen received the equipment a few weeks sooner than expected. The early delivery allowed our team to move the project forward more quickly than we had originally anticipated—a fortunate outcome that helped Monsen meet the rapidly approaching deadline.
Before the equipment even arrived, however, Monsen started working. In fact, as soon as the client approved the installation costs, we began performing other critical tasks that were not dependent on the presence of the equipment: we prepared the roof space for the equipment, installed the structural reinforcements, and performed the duct and electrical work for the project.
Quality on the Fast Track
Once the equipment arrived, Monsen immediately laid down the ductwork transitions underneath the equipment. Our team was focused and motivated, and as a result, we had the entire system rigged and running in time to beat the deadline.
Within three weeks, Monsen transformed a hot, humid warehouse into the ideal indoor environment for producing high-end plastics.
Happy Client, Future Projects
Monsen's ability to complete this intricate project has resulted in future projects with this client—Monsen is scheduled to outfit their facility with a new controls system and install a card access security system. In addition, we secured a planned maintenance agreement on all the facility's HVAC and control equipment.
Once again, Monsen's ability to form strong partnerships with our clients and our decades of experience have produced satisfied customers who will continue to call us whenever they have an HVAC need.
